VELVET REVOLVER Guitarist Says Debut CD Will Be 'Unbelievable'

October 15, 2003

VELVET REVOLVER, the much buzzed-about rock group featuring STONE TEMPLE PILOTS vocalist Scott Weiland, former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner from Dave Navarro's (JANE'S ADDICTION) band, have officially selected Josh Abraham (STAIND, ORGY, POWERMAN 5000) to produce their much-anticipated debut album. The as-yet-untitled CD, which is currently being recorded at a Los Angeles studio, is slated for release next spring through RCA Records.

The following is guitarist Kushner's latest update on the recording process, as posted on the band's official web site:

"[Drummer] Matt [Sorum] and [bassist] Duff [McKagan] are finished with their tracks as of tonight and [guitarist] Slash starts next week! I can't remember ever being this excited about a record ever!! It really is going to be a fucking unbelievable body of work. What's done so far sounds better than what I could have possibly imagined. I am so proud and honored to be playing w/ these guys and of what we're doing as a band so please be patient w/ us cuz you won't have to wait past Feb. or March. And those of you who do hang in there will not be sorry!"
